Vieques

About seven miles east of the big island of Puerto Rico lies Vieques, with 40 palm-lined white-sand beaches and a primitive beauty that is beginning to lure trendsetters. The main town, Isabel Segunda, on the northern shore is home to the last Spanish fort built in the New World. The Punta Mula lighthouse, north of Isabel Segunda, provides panoramic views of the land and sea. On the south coast, Sun Bay is a panoramic crescent of sand with a quaint fishing town nearby.
