This small town is located by the Suka River in Ehime, and features the famous Date Museum, home to 15th- and 16th-century artifacts of once-powerful Japanese rulers, as well as Uwajima Castle. Visitors may also want to see the most unusual sight in town, Taga Shrine, an ancient Shinto fertility shrine. However, the town's main claim to fame is its bull sumo, in which two bulls grapple each other by the horns and attempt to push each other out of a sumo ring.
