Tanjung Puting National Park is located on Borneo Island in Indonesia. It was named an orangutan preserve in 1982, and hosts a multitude of other wildlife such as birds, reptiles and bears. The waters surrounding Tanjung Puting attract fishermen from many parts of Indonesia while locals use the forest to gather honey, waxes, fuel oils and medicinal plants.
